Camille Rowe has summer style down pat. With a wardrobe full of evidence of her love of (and knack for finding) vintage—as well as her trademark Parisian insouciance—the flaxen-tressed model has a way of rolling out of bed, slipping on a tee or slouchy jean, and still looking fresh that hints at her youth growing up between Paris, Brooklyn, and California. The key to the stunner’s knack for easy, breezy style? Keeping it just that: Rowe prefers a pair of sandals to heels, and a bikini to a blouse, citing bohemian icons like Anita Pallenberg among her style influences. Oh, vintage denim! The touch, the feel! There’s that cradle-your-bottom silhouette that sits just right on the hips and hits the ankles in just the right place—not to mention the weather-worn fade. But how does one find such denim gold? Camille Rowe knows a thing or two about how to score the perfect pair of vintage jeans, and helped us sift through a trove of true blues at What Goes Around Comes Around in Los Angeles. The French-American model has an eye for unexpected denim quirks—in her mind, a little tightness on the button-fly is a bonus, for example (“It’s kind of sexy!” she says)—plus she appreciates the power of a good pair of flares (“When I wear them with high heels, I look like a normal-sized model”) and a snug, belfie-worthy cut. Her most valuable pearl of denim wisdom? “Never spend more than $150 on a pair of jeans.” Now that is advice we can all get behind.
